This Valentine, Unlock Your Ultimate Superpower: Self-Love 💖

My heart did a little happy dance—I had just bought myself the cutest Valentine’s gift! A glittery greeting card with tiny hearts that move when you shake it.
My inner child was obsessed. Haha!
It was a few days before Valentine’s Day in 2022, and I was creating a little “Valentine’s corner” in my home. I placed the card alongside some cute decorations and a teddy bear holding red hearts.
But then my heart sank.
I suddenly felt embarrassed.
What if someone visited and saw it? Would they think it was pathetic that I bought myself a Valentine’s gift?
I’ve been single for years, and I’m perfectly happy with that. But in that moment, I realized how uncomfortable I felt about what others might think.
And that’s when it hit me.

Valentine's Day can feel uncomfortable
Even though I personally love Valentine’s Day and think it’s beautiful to celebrate love, for many of us sensitive women, it can feel uncomfortable.
- It can be confronting: We don’t have a relationship, even though we’d love to have one.
- It can feel lonely: We have a partner, but they’re not into romantic gestures.
- It can feel dismissive: We don’t want to make a big deal out of it, so we tell ourselves it’s not important.
- It can feel fake: We see others posting grand gestures online, knowing their relationship is actually toxic.
- It can feel commercial: We’re bombarded with ads for expensive jewelry and gifts we don’t even want to buy into.

The biggest issue with Valentine's Day

It can bring up feelings of shame and unworthiness
But beneath all of this, the biggest issue Valentine’s Day highlights is the expectation of receiving love and validation from outside of ourselves.
And that can bring up hidden feelings of shame, unworthiness, or rejection—things we often push down or ignore.
But here’s the thing: Valentine’s Day can also be an opportunity.
Instead of seeing it as a reminder of what’s missing, use it as a moment to heal and shift your energy.
Because if you want to attract better things in life, it always starts with self-love.
Self-love is the foundation of everything you want to manifest.

Valentine's Day can be an opportunity.
So this year, I encourage you to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the best way possible—by choosing you.
Here are a few ideas to get started:
💖 Reflect on any uncomfortable feelings that come up and allow yourself to heal.
🎁 Buy yourself a small gift—something just for you (it doesn’t have to be expensive!)
📖 Journal and write down affirmations to manifest more love into your life.
This simple shift in perspective can open the doors to more love—whether in a romantic relationship, your friendships, or even the way you show up for yourself.
Self-love isn't just a buzz-word
Because self-love isn’t just a buzzword. It’s an energy shift.
It’s what activates your magnetism and aligns you with everything you desire.
So take one small step today to honor and love yourself this Valentine’s Day. 💕
Oh, and in case you’re wondering—I didn’t throw the card away. I left it right there in my little Valentine’s corner, exactly where it belonged. My goal in sharing this wasn’t to show you how insecure I was, but to offer you a new way to embrace and work through those uncomfortable feelings when they show up.
Because that’s where real self-love begins. 💖
Much love,
Kathleen xx
