Happy Blue Monday! ☺️
The third Monday in January is Blue Monday, the so-called "most depressing day of the year." But did you know it was actually created as a marketing stunt?
It’s true!
It all started with a travel company called Sky Travel. They wanted to boost sales in January, a slow month for flight bookings. So, they created the idea of Blue Monday—a day when people are supposed to feel down, just to sell vacations.
When I heard this, I was baffled.
Think about it: they plant the belief that today is depressing, and once you feel that way, they swoop in with products to "fix" the mood they created.
Sneaky, right?
But here’s the thing—this happens more often than we realize. Marketing messages, social media, and even the people around us can subtly take away our power over our happiness.
Take Back Your Power
There was a time when I realized I often felt sad or drained—and it wasn’t even because of my own life. It was other people’s energy, their drama, or even the narratives I was absorbing from the world around me.
That realization was so freeing!
Because once I saw it, I understood that I could choose differently. I could decide how I wanted to feel instead of letting others decide for me.
Happiness is not an end goal,
it's a journey

One Simple Tip to Reclaim Your Happiness
Here’s a tip from my workbook, "5 Steps to Attract More Happiness":
"Let go of people who make you feel bad.
It’s tough but important to let go of people who don’t have your best interests at heart. Trust your intuition about this.
If someone makes you feel bad, ask yourself why. If they treat you disrespectfully, set clear boundaries. Spend less time with people who don’t value your friendship.
When you do this, you’ll create space to meet new people who will appreciate you.
Being honest with ourselves about this can be tough. Sometimes, we need to let go of friends we’ve known for a long time because they no longer match who we are."
